Dear members and friends of Valley Park,
September is one of the more important months of the year at Valley Park because it marks the end of summer and willkommen! start of a Fall programming. The many things we do integrate the attendees of two different worship services in two different languages into ministries that celebrate our unity apart from diversity in age groups, ethnicities, and languages spoken. Highlights of the coming months include:
- Sunday Worship
Sundays are a fundamental part of our church because of the opportunity to praise God, study God’s Word together and fellowship. I would like wholesale jerseys to encourage everyone to come early on Sundays for several reasons: visitors will be encouraged when they see others in the Sanctuary and Chapel prepared to Worship at 10:30 a.m. sharp. Our Worship leaders will be encouraged that we appreciate them and are ready to participate when they start. More of us attending at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. will encourage visitors and regular attendees alike.
- Youth Ministry
We are beginning our year with three committed youth leaders who are working together to build our youth ministry. Nick Barbinis is one of our worship leaders and has been involved in VP’s youth ministry for close to 10 years. He has also worked with youth tutoring programs and mentored many youth in their faith. Ryan Whyman has been on the worship team at VP for a couple of years. He is a graduate of CSUN where he had leadership development with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. Likewise, Ronnie Robles has been trained in leadership with Intervarsity. She has been attending Valley Park for the last year and will graduate from CSUN next summer. The three of them are working together to build the youth of both our English and Spanish speaking services. They will host a Labor Day BBQ at Pastor’s Kevyn and Ann’s home. Contact Nick (818.624.0244) or Ryan (818.334.7511) for more information.
Youth Group Meets: Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
- Awana Ministry starts September 9th
We are beginning our third We year of Awana ministry. This year’s commanders of Awana are Joe Rivadeneira who will work with the children and Crystal Johnson who will work with Middle and High School Age. The Awana ministry is a discipleship program that involves close to 30 volunteers. They have built a ministry that we anticipate will attract over 70 children and youth this year. This ministry has integrated Valley Park children and youth while attracting people from the community and neighboring churches.
Awana meets: Fridays at 6:45 p.m.
- Women’s “Beth Moore” DVD Study
The Women’s Bible Study is Beth Moore’s study of II Timothy called “Entrusted.
Starts: Monday, September 26th at 6:45 p.m.
- Journey Men Meetings start in October
Journey Men is a Men’s ministry at Valley Park that had three meeting times per week during the past year. This made it possible for men to choose according to their work schedules. On Tuesday, September 13th, we will watch a movie about Martin Luther and the Reformation concluded by discussion about how he changed history. Feel free to join us at 7 p.m. in the Chapel.
Meeting times for Journey Men in the Fall will be announced soon.
Valley Park Vision and Mission Development- Sam Chetti
One additional series of meetings at Valley Park will involve the entire church including members of both the English and Spanish speaking congregations. We have cheap nfl jerseys invited Dr. Sam Chetti, the Executive Minister of American Baptist Churches, USA, in our region to preach on September 11th. After his time with us on September 11th he will schedule a series of evening meetings in order to help us, the members of Valley Park, more clearly express the shared “vision” and “mission” for Valley Park as “one church” with different services bei in English and Spanish.
Perhaps the most important way to respond to the many things happening at VP is to support the ministries and participate in cheap jerseys as many ways as possible. Living Join with me in praying for everything we are doing as a church and consider how best to use your gifts to make everything we do an encouragement. May God be glorified by what each and every one of us does as members of the Family of God at VP.
