Dear members and friends of VPC,
It has been an exciting 6 weeks because of plans for the encouragement of our church family and the possibility of new leadership with our worship team.
First, our beloved Nick Barbinis, who has been faithfully serving us for years in both youth ministry and musically, and as our worship leader since Covid started, is now moving on to a church where he and his wife, Jasmine, enjoy involvement in a young marrieds group. Nick made a commitment to Valley Park when Covid started to help us until his other church opened. With Reality LA now open, he made a decision to help us until we had other leadership in place so that he could return to the church where he and his wife have been involved. He is giving up his worship leadership at VP with our blessing and our prayers.
Nick has been an exceptional example of a servant of Jesus, who in the name of Jesus, is willing to use his giftedness and growing leadership ability wherever children of God gather. He has done this with other churches since his teens. He has been and will continue to be a faithful and reliable friend and servant of Valley Park into the future if needed. So, make sure you thank Nick for his faithfulness as a servant of Jesus Christ when you see him. He has blessed us with his gifts and we should pray that God uses his gifts wherever God leads him to always be faithful to us into the future.
With the warmest of farewells, we are getting to know a possible new candidate for leading our worship team. His name is Kye Harris. He is a young 20 years old with over a decade of experience in music within his family. He is from Chicago, plays multiple instruments and lives close to Valley Park. I have been getting to know him and his heart and have enjoyed a very compassionate disposition in Him for people and Jesus Christ. His father, brothers, and other relatives have a history with music and serving small churches. He understands small church struggles and believes he has something to offer Valley Park that will encourage and contribute to growth. Give him your warmest greetings. Also get to know his girlfriend, Taylor, who is very friendly and loves Jesus as well.
In seeking ways to encourage the members and friends of Valley Park, we have formed “Life Groups” where we can again build stronger relationships and grow in our understanding of Jesus Christ. Starting Sunday, November 7th, we will have five options for small groups over the next four weeks:
Sundays 5PM at the church
Tuesdays 10AM at the church
Wednesdays 7PM at the church
Wednesdays 7PM ZOOM – led by Vivian Rude. Contact Vivian Rude if you have any questions.
Fridays 6PM at Felicia Pasco’s home. Call either Mamu or Ludy Crizaldo for more information.
The “Life Groups” will initially study one book involving 10 topics. We will complete the first four sessions before Christmas and the next six meetings beginning in January. The name of the book we are using is “Knowing” which involves an introduction to basic teachings of the Bible that a Christian should understand.
The “Life Groups” are not only valuable for personal spiritual growth, but an opportunity for reaching out to people who might be interested in learning more about Jesus and salvation. Think about who you might know who would be interested in a “Life Group.” Consider also if you might want to gather your own group of friends as a group willing to talk more about Jesus.
Pray that God will bless our effort to gather people in these times of discouragement to talk about the real meaning of life that gives us hope.
To God be the Glory!
