Valley Park Missions & Outreach

Traveling the World Together Through Christ

Welcome to our fully shared Missions & Outreach Ministry at Valley Park Church, a dynamic and purpose-driven initiative aligned with the values of the American Baptist community. Rooted in the spirit of service and compassion, our unified ministries, in collaboration with the American Baptist Churches of Los Angeles, serve as a beacon of hope reaching both the far corners of mission fields and the hearts of those in need here in Los Angeles.

At Valley Park, we operate in conjunction with the American Baptist Home Mission Societies, an organization dedicated to equipping individuals for impactful service on mission grounds. Proudly serving as the endorsing agent for American Baptist chaplains and Pastoral Counselors, we ensure a strong foundation of support for those called to minister in diverse and challenging environments.

Our Commitment to empowerment goes beyond our geographical boundaries. Initiatives like MinistrElife, a vibrant online network for religious professionals, and Co-Creators Incubator, reflect our collaborative efforts in nurturing innovative ministry ideas. Leveraging technology through platforms like American Baptist Personnel Services, we create a seamless bridge connecting ministry professionals with opportunities, embodying the shared passion and purpose of our ministries.

Education is at the heart of our shared endeavors. We provide scholarships and educational opportunities that not only enrich the lives of our students but also contribute to the growth of future ministry leaders. In Support of Excellence stands as a testament to our joint dedication, offering a financial-empowerment program designed to uplift pastors and lay leaders, ensuring their continued excellence in service.

Embracing the diversity of our society, the Intercultural Ministries program, developed in partnership with the American Baptist community, provides resources and training that promote the essential practice of sharing and learning across cultures. We firmly believe that fostering unity in Christ is integral to our shared mission, and this program stands as a testament to our joint commitment to inclusivity.

Together, as a fully shared ministry with the American Baptist community, we embark on a journey of faith, service, and community. We welcome you to a ministry that transcends boundaries, embodying the spirit of love, compassion, and purposeful action in partnership with the American Baptist mission values.

Join us on this transformative journey at Valley Park as we navigate the intersection of faith, service, and community. As Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." Together, we strive to make a lasting impact, not only in mission fields but in the lives of those we serve, both abroad and at home.

Angel Tree Christmas

At Valley Park, we understand the challenges faced by incarcerated individuals and their families. Collaborating with Angel Tree, our mission extends to providing support during Christmas. Angel Tree Christmas offers incarcerated parents a means to give a Christmas gift and a personal message, delivered by our caring local volunteers. This initiative, embraced by Valley Park, becomes a tangible representation of love, further strengthening the connections within families affected by incarceration. Additionally, every Angel Tree family connected with Valley Park is given access to a free, easy-to-read copy of the Bible, fostering spiritual support. Our commitment to working with Angel Tree allows us to embody the hope and grace of the Gospel, enabling continuous ministry to these families throughout the year.

Food Pantry Program

For nearly a decade, the members of Valley Park Church, along with dedicated volunteers, have been unwaveringly committed to overseeing a crucial food pantry. This outreach initiative is a testament to our dedication to providing nourishment and hope to the members of our local community. Reflecting the teachings of Matthew 25:35-36, which state, 'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me,' our actions align with these words. In our service, we not only speak of love but express it through tangible, compassionate actions. Currently, we have the privilege of feeding 130 to 180 needy families, further embodying our commitment to addressing hunger and need in our community.
